The Gentle Mind

The causes of IBS are not clear.

However, the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines recommend you consider treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy.

This seems to cut anxiety levels by changing your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, so you can have a better quality of life – get out and about more without the fear of embarrassing yourself.

Your gut has its own nervous system and what we will aim to do is lower your stress levels and your ideas of pain from the bowel region.

What we’re looking to do is:

  • Learn how to relax
  • Manage stress
  • Promote positive thinking
